The High Life

It’s been forever since I updated my blog.  It sits here each month of my server, which I pay for, while no new updates are posted so it’s probably time that I update it.  I’m probably better just starting off from where everything is in my life at this point and going from there.

I have finally moved out from the parents house.  Kevin, my best friend, and Steve are now roommates.  We live out in West Knoxville, thus far I really like it.  I’ve been living there for approximately 4 months.  I still work my full time job at Sitel, though I managed to pick up a second job, part time, at Sapphire.  Sitel is a call center, it’s just like every other BPO in existance.  Sapphire on the other hand is quite a fun job.  Sapphire, after 10pm, is basically a martini bar.  Post-college, career-minded tend to come here.  It’s one of the most mellow places in Knoxville, for a drink, in my opinion.  There drinks also fight for the best mixed drinks in Knoxville.  Should your stomach get a little hungry we have the 2nd best chef in Knoxville, per Metro Pulse! I am considered security, though my job rarely consists of having to break up a fight.  A normal night consists of checking IDs and possible asking some stupidly drunk ass to leave for the night.  I honestly have to say it’s the best 17 hours a week that I work.  I’m there Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights if anyone cares to stop by just let me know. 

Brandy and I are still dating after many thick and thin events throughout our relationship she’s still with me, amazingly.  I’m not saying I’m a bad guy, but I get in my moods.  I’m sure that at times I’m quite an asshole and she deals with my asshole moods I guess because she knows how to tolerate me. 

I also just celebrated my 24th birthday.  I feel as though I’m getting pretty old.  Atleast now I can say that I don’t live at home, that’d be a bit ridiculous.  I still plan on finishing my degree and moving into a career oriented field or moving into management depending on how I think each would benefit me.  I enjoyed the company of all my friends this weekend.  Everyone who came by or said happy birthday, thank you!

So I finally got around to hardwiring my radar detector in my vehicle. I have considered going with something like the RX75, but I don’t know how much more performance I would get out of a system that’s 5 times the price. Anyways, here are some pix. It sits right below the tint at the top of my windshield. Laser currently is not a threat inside Knoxville, TN so I’m not too worried with it being mounted high and from the outside of the vehicle you cannot tell it’s there without looking quite hard. I have found the placement of the mute button to work extremely well. It’s not much effort to reach just forward of my multi-function switch and bump the mute button. I had considered various other placements for it and settled as that being my best option, plus it looks like it belongs there. I’m going to get some ultra-thin tape or removable adhesive to replace the currently used velco, which has actually worked really well.

So last night I went to Brandy’s friend’s house. She was having a get together so we figured why not. We show up to a house full of about 10 or 15 people. I being the relaxed kind of person I am quickly find myself a seat in a room with couches. My brother and I quickly take our seats and begin chatting as we smoke a few.

There were several people there who we did not know, but I got everyone’s name, age and profession out of them. One girl in particular calls me the shit after me making mention of where I work. Shortly after this they decided to crank up the stereo…fine by me.

Here we are jamming out and it happens…1/2 of the house, including the room we’re in goes dead. The stereo and all the lights in our area had just gone off. Immediately I said “God Damnit” I knew exactly what had happened. The breaker just kicked. So here I go somehow having a surefire flashlight on me into the basement of her house and find the breaker box. I throw the switch and confirm my selection by the reaction from the people above. I had flipped the correct breaker. We get back up there and I run into the girl who had previously made the sarcastic comment about me being the shit and I asked, now what am I? She responds with the shit. LoL. Overall a good night, a few other things happened but nothing big.
